Traditionally, martinis are made with gin or vodka and vermouth with bitters and an olive or lemon peel as garnish. This Birchin version skips the vermouth and uses a bit of hibiscus tea syrup to create a unique and delicious vodka cocktail.
Ingredients
For the Hibiscus Syrup: 1 cup water
2 TBSP hibiscus flowers
1 cup granulated sugar
For the Martini:
2 ounces vodka
½ oz orange-flavored liqueur
1 oz lime juice (fresh squeezed is best)
¾ oz Hibiscus syrup
Garnish: twisted lime peel, edible orchid, hibiscus or other flowers
